Ralph Lauren has unveiled a gorgeous new minute repeater. The watch shares many similarities to other pieces in the Slim Classique collection, including extensive hand guilloche work including the bezel. The dial has a gorgeous and intricate barleycorn pattern of 80 waves spiraling from the center of the watch. The black-toned Breguet style hands look wonderful and are perfectly sized. The phrase “minute repeater” is split on either flank of the small seconds indicator at 6 o’clock.
It is powered by the impressive looking hand-wound RL888 movement with a 100-hour power reserve. The minute repeater is activated on demand by a slide piece at 9 o’clock on the side of the case (42 mm white gold), and features three distinct sounds for the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes.
The $206,000 timepiece is a one-of-a-kind, though I’d guess if the reception is positive enough more will probably be made.
