This…this is cool. A unique phenomenon occurs when you give watch engineers more latitude than they have ever worked with before…in a unique collaboration, Macallan threw down the gauntlet to a team of watchmakers who know a thing or two about making technically advanced, avante-garde timepieces – URWERK. The challenge was to transform the traditionally small and simple everyday object of a whisky flask into something extraordinary, far beyond the expected. Introducing The Macallan x URWERK Flask. Don’t miss the short video below!
Officially the “Flask 2” (Macallan collaborated on another flask with Oakley), it is a combination of machined aluminum, titanium and stainless steel. But its not just a combination of metal — the Macallan X URWERK Flask has some knock-down awesome technical features.
- It features two titanium tanks which allow you to carry two of your favorite whiskies (preferably Macallan, of course). Simple twist the opening/neck of the flask to select which tank gets poured.
- Spring-loaded winglets which pop out on either side that create a stand for the flask.
- And — my favorite design feature — cask indicators that enable you to note the cask type and age of the whisky you’ve put into each tank.
Composed of over 150 parts, The Macallan x URWERK Flask has purposeful complexity and intricacy at its heart; combining the beauty of design with genuine utility. Reflecting The Macallan’s inherent mastery, intricacy and individuality combined with URWERK’s unconventional design approach and engineering.
Limited to only 500 and priced at £2,000, this is a whisky flask like no other. Available soon at: http://urwerkflask.themacallan.com/
