Baselworld 2018, German watchmaker Glashütte Original has rolled out its Senator Excellence Panorama Date and Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase models with new dial versions. Following the debut of initial Excellence versions in a more classic style with Roman numerals, these new models boast drop dead gorgeous blue, silver grey and white dials. The dials are all made in Glashütte Original’s in-house dial manufactory in Pforzheim, and include white gold indexes and matching sword-shaped hour and minute hands. Also, the steel case has been slightly upsized 42 mm stainless steel cases (+2mm), though the caliber 36 in-house by GO is unchanged. These new pieces are real beauties!

The smooth matte surface of the lacquered white dial version makes a splendid impression.
The line remains with Glashütte Original’s very nice looking Calibre 36 automatic movement which debuted in 2016. Here in versions 36-03 with the Panorama Date and 36-04 with the Panorama Date and moon phase – has already made a name for itself as the
epitome of excellence in watchmaking. In a final touch of refinement, the mechanics are such that both the Panorama Date and the Moon Phase are set using the crown, which makes an additional corrector on the case unnecessary.
