Artisans de Genève is a Swiss watch manufacturer based in Geneva which produces truly special watches. The company — operating entirely independently — uniquely modifies and reworks designs from renowned brands to create exceptional limited edition timepieces. While not the first to adopt this approach of creating “tribute” or special edition modifications, Artisans de Genève has proven itself quite adept at this craft, including a unique approach to collaborative design inspiration by working with high profile personalities such as Lenny Kravitz and Spike Lee, for example.
They have envisioned and brought to life several other amazing ‘bespoke’ timepieces as well. Their latest, we will look at today: the Artisans de Genève “Tribute to Daytona” 6241 Paul Newman. A limited edition of 26 pieces, this watch is essentially a highly modified Daytona 116508 solid gold, and it looks spectacular. This Tribute to Daytona 6241 Paul Newman which is priced at 47,800 EUR (about $60,000) and the only reservation list is the one for serious buyers. I say this because Artisans de Genève if you want to buy one, a 30% up front deposit is required – 14,300 EUR, or about $18,000 USD. Full run-down is below.

Though it remains to be seen whether these watches have any long term “collectible value”, it is without a doubt to say that Artisans de Genève has great vision and knows how to make an impressive tribute watch, leaving no detail unturned nor unrefined. I am looking forward to what comes next from them.
