MB&F Rebel Watch | Perpetuelle

Rock N’ Roll…

This is the new MB&F Rebel. Part of MB&F’s HM3 (Horological Machine No. 3) design, the watch was done in partnership/kinship with Laurent Picciotto (Chronopassion, Paris). The HM3 ReBel is a limited edition of 18 pieces in black PVD-treated white gold, blackened movement and 22K gold rotor. That’s “ReBel” as in R for right (hand), B for Black (case). According to MB&F, “The black PVD-coated ReBel is a distinctive, rock ‘n roll mirror-image of the HM3 designed to be worn on the right wrist, as a few individualists out there want to do.” Indeed.

black PVD-treated white gold case, charcoal-coloured movement plates and bridges, 3-D horological engine designed by Jean-Marc Wiederrecht/Agenhor (Girard-Perregaux base), 22K gold battle-axe shaped ‘mystery’, sapphire crystal cones and both display backs with anti-reflective treatment on both faces. Comes on a black hand-stitched alligator with 18K white gold and titanium custom designed deployment buckle.

Does Chronopassion welcome gawkers and window-shoppers in their boutique? Headed to paris this summer and would love to check out the amazing timepieces but unfortunately don’t have the bankroll for any of them.

  I have not been to Chronopassion and so can’t speak from experience — but if you are a watch fan I think you have every reason to at least go in and browse the store. In my view, there’s no reason they shouldn’t also accommodate you (or any watch enthusiast) by taking a few of yoru favorites out of the (even if you don’t plan to buy).

    Thanks for the response Kyle. I fully agree with your take. Unfortunately I have had some less than pleasant experiences in boutiques. **cough** Wempe 5th Ave **cough** It was a busy day but no excuse for rude sales associates.

      You know what, let me do this — I’ll do some asking around and see if I can get a better read on the level of snobbishness at Chronopassion. Hopefully the answer is “little to none”. I’ll leave a comment here with what I find.
