Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Jubilee

This exceptional new model from Jaeger-LeCoultre was inspired by the pocket-watch launched by the manufacture in 1907.  A pocket watch which to this day remains the thinnest manually-wound mechanical pocket-watch in the world, but who’s counting.  The platinum case is a mere 4.05mm thick, making it the flattest manually-winding mechanical wristwatch in existence.   A delightful combination of simplicity and elegance.  More looks — including the 1.85mm thin JLC Calibre 849 — below.

Nice dial! But a 35-hour power reserve is not much of a power reserve. Makes you feel like winding it twice a day, lest you forget to do it the next morning. And the movement looks a bit ETA-ish. I don’t think it can cannot compete with the new Vacheron with the grey slate dial or the Piaget Altiplano petit seconds.

@google-897808eb3c1a3ed8423297de932bc081:disqus A good and fair point you raise regarding the power reserve. Though the Piaget Altiplano with Cal 430P is 43 hours power reserve and the Vacheron Patrimony Contemporaine with Cal 1400 is 40 hours. Higher yes, but only modestly. Apperance wise, I don’t think the 430P looks any more exceptional than the JLC Cal 849 or the VC Cal 1400.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
