Hublot Miami HEAT Watch

OK, finally the Hublot Miami HEAT watch is official.  I’ve been expecting this watch since Hublot and the Miami HEAT started a relationship in December 2010 — where there is a Hublot relationship, there is a Hublot watch to follow!  Of course, Dwyane Wade got his own Hublot first, but now the whole franchise has one, so to speak.  The watch is in the Hublot King Power case, with the Miami HEAT logo and wording on both dial and caseback.  There is also a special 48 minute central counter simulating the four quarters of a basketball game, and the chrono pusher is inspired by the shape of the backboard.  This marks the first Swiss luxury brand to launch an “NBA” timepiece.  HEAT captains Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem will help to promote the watch — proceeds from the sales of the exclusive Miami HEAT limited edition timepiece will go directly to the Miami HEAT Charitable fund to benefit the South Florida Community.  Available exclusively in South Florida Hublot Boutiques and select Hublot Retailers.

What’s their fascination with the Heat?  First a Dwayne Wade watch, now this?  Only guy who wants this is a player or coach.

Maybe Hublot is being paid money by Heat and other sports teams to manufacture watches with the team or a player’s name…

@TheNotoriousROB:disqus Or an Owner.  Or a rich and hard-core fan.  I’ve thought the same about most of Hublot’s “sports team” watches (Manchester United, Maradona, even some of the F1 pieces “abu dabi” “suzuka” “monza”) — there has to be a very limited buyer pool for these pieces!  But I guess if they manage production accordingly, then they can move them.

Well, I’ve already mentioned that there’s too many watches that don’t stand on their own in an earlier post and it really is getting tiresome and turning me off Hublot in a big way. I really don’t think that I can take the brand seriously.
