Following on the launch two years ago of the first models in the HLC line, Neuchâtel watch brand HAUTLENCE is launching an elegant rounded version while remaining true to the minimalist heritage of the very first line, the HL. The rose gold HLC06 is inspired by minimalist art and the famed maxim of architect Mies van der Rohe: “less is more” (van der Rohe is also known for designing the Barcelona Chair (see also: Dottling Liberty Barcelona safe). Design-wise, you can see that the dial of the HLC extensively utilizes the humble circle to great effect. The hours are positioned on the left of the dial, visible through a jump hour disc which reveal the hour instantaneously at the top of the hour. The minutes are read from the retrograde minute hand, which travels 180 degrees before instantly returning to its starting point on the hour. Price is around $58,000 (57,000 CHF) for the HLc06 with pin buckle, or about $61,000 (60,000 CHF) with a folding clasp.
