Harry Winston Midnight Skeleton

Another pair of new references from Harry Winston, these from the brand’s typically more elegant and reserved collection, the Midnight Collection.   However while these references maintain key elements of the brand’s unmistakable style (note the signature HW arches at 3 and 9 o’clock), the usual reserved look of the Midnight Collection is replaced here with an open-worked flair.  That is, the Midnight Skeleton takes the fundamental essence of the Midnight Collection and transforms it into something more visually striking through the use of a skeletonized dial.  The skeleton dial is of a more contemporary flavor, and one can visualize a sort of “spiral” effect which moves counterclockwise around the dial, around the gear train.

18k white or rose gold case, black or brown alligator strap:  $44,200.

Available in a 42mm case of white or rose gold, the watch fairly thin at 7.5mm — helped in large part by an automatic mechanical movement with a micro-rotor.

something tells me these watches are not only impossible to read at nighttime, but very hard to read at daytime, too. Recently, Piaget did a much better, and infinitely more elegant job.

Piaget is only 38mm, these are 42mm!
