After looking at too many white watches this week I find myself in dire need of something a bit more refined. In January 2012, venerable German watch manufacture A. Lange & Söhne presented the Datograph Up/Down. To mark the official launch in Lange retailers worldwide this month, Lange has taken to shooting this outstanding chronograph together with another masterpiece from Saxony, the “Blue Wonder” bridge in Dresden. In just over 10 short years, the Lange Datograph has cemented its place as one of the greatest timepieces, certainly chronographs, in the history of watchmaking — you can learn more about the legendary, platinum-cased Datograph on A. Lange’s website here. In other words, the more often you get to look at this watch, the better. And if you like these photos, be sure to also check out my previous A. Lange & Söhne feature, Gallery: A. Lange On the Rocks (a gallery I like even more).
