As mentioned by entrepreneur and Devon Works founder Scott Devon in recent interviews (here and here), here is a first look the new Devon Tread 1 Exoskeleton watch in both white and rose gold. This is the third version of the Tread 1, in addition to the Steampunk and the original (itself available in a few different finishes and color-sets). Lots of “see through” in this aggressively-styled model, including the strap. The translucent material is, I believe, not sapphire crystal but rather “scratch-resistant, and anti-reflective polycarbonate with bullet-proof durability”.
As I stated in my recent critique of the redesigned Tread 2, I’ve always been a fan of the Devon Tread 1, and I think that this new “Exoskeleton” is an interesting iteration. If you thought the original Tread 1 was edgy, this one would be off the charts — very high-tech and futuristic looking.
Devon is on my radar for 2013, so I’ll bring you and update when I have something new – Full reveal will be in a couple months, at Baselworld 2013. Stay tuned.
