Having now seen this year’s Chronomat Airborne (the collection’s 30th anniversary), let’s take a quick look at another release from Breitling this year, the Navitimer. The Breitling Navitimer – a technical and purpose-built watch with circular slide rule – is an easily recognizable icon from the brand. This year Breitling is launching upsized versions of the Navitimer, 46mm and 48mm + GMT function. We’ll look at both, below.
With an upsized 46mm steel case (+3mm vs. the regular Navitimer 01) in choice of blue or black dial, both with in-house Caliber B01, the Navitimer 46mm is an “XL” offering for those who would have it.
And how about the Navitimer GMT? Thanks to the Manufacture Breitling Caliber B04 (same as in the Transocean Chronograph GMT) — clearly visible through the transparent caseback — this watch offers the usual Navi functionality along with a dual timezone system. It is very easy to set: simply pull out the crown and turn it forwards or backwards in one-hour increments. The Navitimer GMT is offered with black dial + silver counters or an all silver version, on your choice of steel bracelet or leather strap.
For both models, a 200-piece red gold limited edition with a black dial will also be offered.
