This is Armin Strom’s third season as official timing partner of the Marussia F1 Team, and with the Italian GP just 4 days away, the Swiss Manufacture presents the sixth piece in its Racing Collection — the new Racing Tourbillon model, limited to just 2 pieces (!).
The styling of this watch is superb, highlighted by its black PVD titanium case and distinctive red elox-coated and skeletonised bridges which are actually made of aluminum alloy that can also be found in components of Team Marussia’s F1 car. You’ll want to see this one up close!
43.4mm x 13mm black PVD-finished titanium case (in Armin Strom’s hallmark “y-axis symmetrical” design (my-term not theirs))
The caliber is Armin Strom’s in-house manual-wind ATC11-MR, a hand-decorated tourbillon movement with a very respectable 10-day power reserve via its double-barrel configuration. Visible just below the red-plated components are the symmetrically placed ratched wheels. Here is a basic illustration of the tourbillon itself, with a few of the primary components labeled (the spriral is of the Breguet overcoil style):
In fact the manufacture has produced an extensive e-book which provides considerable insights into construction, assembly and finishing of this the manufacture’s first in-house tourbillon — interested aficionados can check it out here check it out HERE>>>
Price is $129,000.
