ARMIN STROM, sponsor of the GAC Pindar Sailing Team, launched a special limited edition of 40 pieces based upon the Armin Manual Water model. The distinguishing feature vs. the standard model is the nice looking navy blue calf strap stitched with authentic white canvas of the GAC Pindar catamaran — see close up below. Reminds me also of Hublot who also does a lot of this type of integration — for example it has included real grass on its watch dials and Nomex into its F1 Series straps (from the uniform of F1 drivers) — and I like this thoughtful approach to design and integration from both Hublot and Armin Strom.
One side note– and I think I have mentioned this in previous posts — I still find the company’s branding a little bit confusing and I think they could do a better job in terms of positioning more clearly in the eyes of the consumer. My basic issue is this: is the brand “Armin” or “Armin Strom”? That’s what is not clear to me. This said, I am a fan of the watches.
