Tudor Officially Arrives In the USA

Tudor LogoRolex brother-brand Tudor is now available for sale in the USA.  The launch party last week in New York served as the official kick-off, hosted by GCK Partners who won the media account here in the US.  The week before last I happened to be in Vail where I popped into the Betteridge boutique (phenomenal lineup of brands and watches there, by the way) for a look around.  Lo and behold, there were already a dedicated display cases for Tudor in the brand’s signature black and red colors — just waiting for watches (I trust they are now well-stocked).

Anyway, the exciting thing is that Tudor is now here in the good ole’ USA.  The watches will be priced a step down from Rolex and should, among many fan bases, appeal to the younger demographic — guys who are looking for their first nice watch, for example.  Tudor is a bold and adventurous brand — much more so than Rolex, I would argue — and this will add to its appeal in the US market.  I’ve spoken to many people recently about Tudor, and not one person has expressed anything but excitement about the brand being in the USA.  Then again, none of these were affiliated with Breitling, TAG Heuer or Omega.  Yes, this is a serious new competitor that big name brands such as these will now be competing with, vying for your hard earned dollar (give or take several thousand).   For watch enthusiasts and collectors, I think this is a good thing.

If you really want to get in on the love affair, check out the nice microsite + forum created by Tudor’s other US marketing partner, HODINKEE (not to be confused with http://www.tudorwatch.com).
