It has been just over 22 months to the day since I panned Hublot’s then new website (Hublot’s New Website…*sigh*…Falls Short, October 29, 2009). In one word, the website sucked. And I am a big Hublot fan! By a factor of almost 2x, Hublot is the most featured sbrand here at Perpetuelle over the last few years, and the coverage has been almost exclusively positive.
To my surprise, my criticism at the time prompted comments from none-other than the then-CEO of Hublot, Jean-Claude Biver. Biver’s comments impressed me — not in their validation of the reach and influence that Perpetuelle had even two years ago, but in their demonstration of his leadership style. Biver was truly interested in and responsive to what “Hublotistas” had to say — at a grassroots level.
Fast forward to September 2012: Hublot unveiled a comprehensive redesign of its website:

While I would like to think that I saw this coming, it is undisputable that Hublot’s popularity and online presence have grown immensely over the last two years due to a variety of factors. I’m just saying that I don’t think their old, sub-par website helped much.
Anyway, given that I critiqued the old site, I feel it is only proper to close the loop now that Hublot has a new website. So now I happily give Hublot and its new website two-thumbs up — the new site is user friendly and loaded with interesting information, and lots of great images. It is actually enjoyable to spend some time clicking around — check it out for yourself: www.hublot.com.
I believe that credit go to Amr Sindi, and will somebody please tell JCB! Case closed.
