Here’s a quick preview of the new Star Twin Moonphase that Montblanc is introducing this year. This model is part of the brand’s moderately priced Star collection (watches in the ~$2,000-$5,000 range); given the moonphase, this one will be at the high end of the range. The watch has a 42mm x 12.7mm steel case. It features a dual moon phase indication (northern and southern hemisphere) and moon age indication at at 6 o’clock, as well as a date subdial at 2 o’clock. If you look close you can also see that the dial has a subtle wave-pattern to it which is in the same shape as the Montblanc star. The caliber was developed in collaboration with Dubois-Dépraz and is exclusively reserved for Montblanc.
An decent looking and priced watch, relatively speaking, though for me the style of the Star collection does not suite my tastes nor do watches focused heavily around moon phase complications. Look forward to more exciting watches to come from Montblanc this year.
