JeanRichard Bressel Hommage a Daniel

JeanRichard has never been in my spotlight, but I’ve been thinking more and more lately that the brand deserves more publicity than it seems to garner.  In particular, it’s 2011 lineup is pretty impressive (you will get to see the most exciting pieces next week).

Much of JeanRichard’s modern day success can be attributed to the late Luigi “Gino” Macaluso (1948-2010), the same man who resurrected the Girard-Perregaux after acquiring it in 1992.  Both JR and GP fall under the “Sowind Group” which is owned by the Macaluso family.  WatchTime’s Joe Thompson penned an excellent story on JeanRichard’s hisotry in January 2010if you are interested in knowing more (see:  The Man behind the Brand:  Daniel JeanRichard).  Anyway, on with the show…

This particular piece is an ‘hommage’ (tribute) to the founder of the brand, Daniel JeanRichard, who was born is Bressels, Switzerland in 1672 – hence the “Bressels” collection and the “Hommage a Daniel” model name.   It has a bit more flair than your usual thin dress watch, which is refreshing.
