This is a watch you can like this watch from the brand I consider to be the King of Luminous watches. Why? The new BALL Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster now has a cool rotating bezel with an green H3 micro gas light at 12 o’clock and additional numbers and markers coated with a luminescent blue paint. The case is stainless steel, 41.5mm in diamter with BALL’s patented crown guard. There is also a patented triple folding clasp that that allows the bracelet to be extended by 22mm and thus the watch worn over a space (or other) suit (LOL how many astronaut readers do we have here). The watch is water resistant to 333 meters and has a COSC certified (aka very accurate) movement made by ETA. Basically it is a workhorse watch, and I would expect this to be priced somewhere between $3,000 and $3,500, which seems about right for what you are getting. I bet this watch looks just fantastic in the dark!

Dial close up – check that bezel lume!
Click here to keep an eye on Perpetuelle.com’s Official BASELWORLD 2010 forum for other new watches as they are announced. I can’t and don’t feature them all here on the blog!

Funny, what I see first is the right side of the case and the way how the 2 (3?) buttons are positionned. Interesting though !
Those are not buttons brother, that is a locking crown guard. As a Ball owner, I have been eager for this piece over the last 2 months or so. I think it looks great. That being said, I do think at some point there is lume overkill. I cant say for sure that I am a fan of all these different colored lumes on one watch. Just not sure I like that, I almost think it dumbs down the brand a bit too much. THis is a quality watch and company and I want to see them gain the respect I think they deserve.
The watch is already in the market since November, and the price is something like US$2,800.
