Baselworld 2013 preview…

Maurice Lacroix will be introducing this very nice Pontos S Diver in 2013. It is one of two new models to join the brand’s Pontos collection along with some design tweaks to existing Chronograph and Day/Date models. The watch has a vintage touch while also being respectably spec’d for a dive watch at 600m.

The 43mm stainless steel case has a vertical-brushed finish in the middle and on the side-lugs, with polished bezel and lug facets. The watch has an internal rotating bezel made of aluminum with sandblasted finish. Helium escape valve at 9 o’clock. Applied indexes and hands with Superluminova. The hands are further distinguished by their red-accents.

There will be both black and opaline dials offered. Comes on a leather strap in choice of colors or bracelet, and also an extra NATO strap is included — a nice add-on. I’m not sure where ML sources their calibers from — this one looks to be a fairly standard Swiss automatic.

No word yet on price, but those who like the style of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea diver ($12,500) or the Longines Legend diver (part of the brand’s superb Heritage collection) might want to also consider this new one from Maurice Lacroix.
